1,160 Customers Without Power Monday Afternoon

A ComEd Spokesperson said 95 percent of customers were restored by 3:54 p.m.

ComEd said a downed wire in the area of Essington Road and Jefferson Street left 1,160 customers without power at around 2:26 p.m. By 3:54 p.m., 95 percent of customers had been restored.

"It was just a report of a wire down," a ComEd spokesperson said. "There are still about 59 customers without power and they are working on it, but it will probably be another couple hours."

The traffic light at Essington and Jefferson was out for some time Monday afternoon as a result of the downed wire.
