Joliet Native Andy Dick Joins 'Dancing' Lineup

TMZ is reporting the actor/comedian has signed to compete in the 16th season of "Dancing with the Stars," which starts March 18.

If you've never been a fan of Dancing with the Stars, maybe a Joliet native performing this season will be enough to lure you to the fold.

TMZ is reporting comedian/actor Andy Dick, a graduate -- and homecoming king -- of Joliet Township High School, has just signed on to compete against the likes of country singer Wynonna Judd, comedian D.L. Hughley and boxer Victor Ortiz.

Dick has had his share of career ups-and-downs, and more than his share of drug addiction problems and arrests, but the celeb Web site is reporting that "one source insists Andy is taking the competition very seriously and wants to prove that he's for real."

Dick, 47, has starred in such shows as NewsRadio and Less Than Perfect and been in such movies as Road Trip and Dr. Dolittle 2, but he's probably better known these days for his stint on Celebrity Rehab and his slew of arrests for such things as public intoxication, indecent exposure, battery and drug possession.

Perhaps Dancing producers are hoping the loose cannon Andy Dick shows up to goose ratings and maybe to offer a little comic relief, but perhaps this is the thing that ends up resparking his floundering career.

Guess we'll have to tune in to find out. Season 16 kicks off March 18.

Jaysean...maybe moving to a town more suitable to your enormous respect levels and apparent signs of a good education would be a good idea. Somewhere you can be recognized for your maturity and values...just saying

How long did he live in Joliet? A year? This guy always has been and always will be a loser. He doesn't bring anything but disgust to everywhere he goes.
