Joliet West Sectional Game Postponed

Inclement weather has forced the schedule of games at the Harvey Thornton Class 4A sectional to be altered. Joliet West will face Marian Catholic at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

 

Because of heavy snowfalls throughtout the region, the schedule of games in the Class 4A boys basketball sectional at Harvey Thornton High School has been altered, and Joliet West will get one more day to prepare for its next dose of March Madness.

Joliet West will face Marian Catholic at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday (March 6) in the first of two semifinal games at Thornton. The game originally was scheduled to be played Tuesday (March 5) but was pushed back because of the inclement weather.

Stagg takes on Bloom Township at 7:30 p.m. Thursday (March 7) in the second semifinal game.

The two winners will square off at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the sectional final at Thornton.

Joliet West defeated Thornton Fractional North 40-37 on Friday night at Lockport to win its first regional championship since 1992-93. Morris Dunnigan scored 14 points as the Tigers' rallied from 33-28 deficit in the final 8 minutes.
