Former Bolingbrook cop and current Will County jail bird Drew Peterson highlighted the week's courthouse action when a couple of his lawyers showed up with a motion for a new trial.

The old trial ended not so well for Peterson, as he was found guilty of murdering his third wife, Kathleen Savio.

The motion for a new trial paints former Peterson attorney Joel Brodsky as a publicity hound, and claims a deal he entered with a Florida public relations worker damaged Peterson's chance for a fair trial.

• New Lenox resident Christina Sepsis, 33, was charged for a second time with trying to cheat a drug screen. To make matters worse for Sepsis, she was also charged with pushing the woman paid to watch her provide a urine sample. And Sepsis might need to find someone to take care of her house while she's locked up, as her live-in boyfriend was carted off to the Cook County jail back in September after the cops allegedly found him unconscious on the ground by his car, which happened to have a couple of hand grenades in it.
• A Chicago man police say has a thing for robbing Radio Shacks wasn't in court but was charged with robbing a Radio Shack in Frankfort. Reginald Taylor, 47, also has a case for allegedly robbing one in Palos Heights and was charged with holding the police at bay for an hour when they had him surrounded in Oak Lawn.
• A trial was set for an alleged road rage killing case. Christopher Yeoman, 40, of Lemont faces second degree murder charges in connection with the death of 64-year-old Frank Egas.
• It looks like the Joliet police took their investigation of missing mom Linda Fellenbaum's disappearance to a grand jury.
• Romeoville woman Kathleen Murray laid the foundation for a possible wrongful death lawsuit. She claims her husband, retired Chicago police officer and U.S. Marshal Gerald Murray, was killed by a bad kidney he received in a transplant.
• A Yorkville man was found guilty in connection with a drunken, Christmas Day crash. Glen Ray Higginbotham, 34, had been convicted and sent to prison 12 years earlier for killing a 10-year-old girl in an earlier drunken crash.
• Lockport woman Amber Norris, 21, got probation after pleading guilty to six counts of aggravated cruelty to animals. Joliet narcotics cops found 11 dead and dying dogs in a South Briggs Street house and Norris admitted to taking care of them sometimes, a prosecutor said.
• An Aurora man whose murder conviction had been overturned pleaded guilty to an aggravated robbery charge and took a 15 year prison sentence. Courtney Mayes was doing a 20-year bit in Hill Correctional Center when the appellate court ruled the Naperville police messed up his arrest. Mayes had been found guilty of killing a Naperville man in 2008.
