Drew Peterson was brought into a courtroom packed with reporters and had a hearing to set the date for another hearing to see if he can have a do-over of his murder trial.

That was the biggest thing going on at the Will County Courthouse last week, but it wasn't the only thing. Let's look at what else was going on in the week that was:

• Megan Brooks, the daughter of Will County Board member Herbert Brooks, pleaded guilty to stealing from her job at the Joliet Target. Megan Brooks, 23, copped her plea after Special Prosecutor Dave Neal reduced the charge from a felony to a misdemeanor.
• Habitual drunken driver Glen Higginbotham was sentenced to eight years in prison for drunken driving. Higginbotham has already done seven years in prison for a drunken crash that left a 10-year-old girl dead in 1999.
• A 64-year-old woman is suing a Speedway service station in Homer Glen and Marathon Oil Company. The woman, Martha Farmer, claims a defective pump spewed gasoline into her lungs and put her in the hospital for a week.
• Meanwhile, over in federal court in Chicago, Shorewood IT guy Christopher Kice pleaded guilty to both producing and possessing child pornography. Kice, 42, faces up to 30 years in prison.
• The Tinley Park man charged with beating his wife to death with a weightlifting bar was arraigned and pleaded not guilty. Bahaa Sam, 47, also hired a lawyer.
• The attorneys for Joliet woman Margarita Hernandez are still waiting for the FBI and Chicago police to turn over evidence they supposedly have that proves she set up a sex date with a 15-year-old boy.
