Man Beaten to Death Near Shorewood, Says Trib
The Will County Sheriff's Department is investigating a homicide in Troy Township, according to the Chicago Tribune.
The Will County Sheriff's Department captured and questioned a man in connection with a Sunday beating death outside Shorewood, reported the Chicago Tribune.
"Dead is a 69-year-old man who is believed to have been a longtime employee at Knauer’s Wilbert Vault, Inc., 19515 North East Frontage Rd., in Will County near Shorewood, said Will County Sheriff's Deputy Chief Ken Kaupas," the Tribune story said. "The victim, who has not yet been identified, died in the business after police were called just before 9 a.m. following a report of a fight in progress, Kaupas said."
Prior to the killing in Troy Township, the man in custody attempted to break into a garage Saddlebrook Estates subdivision, the story said. The man reportedly fled after a resident came upon him.
The Will County Coroner's office has yet to identify the dead man.
The Tribune reported the Shorewood police and the state police were in on the search for the 42-year-old suspect.
