Drew Peterson Play: 'Humor, Haunting and Homicide,' Says Chicagoist

"Dating Walter Dante" got another great review.

The way Dating Walter Dante is piling up the great reviews, it's got us convinced we really need to get our act together and head up to Chicago to see it.

The latest glowing critique was from Chicagoist. Here's what they had to say:

"From lights up, playwright Jon Steinhagen engages with a multi-angled look at the dating life of a media accused murder suspect. Local celebrity Drew Peterson would appreciate Steinhagen’s in-depth and thoughtful exploration. Steinhagen lets the characters narrate the memory play. Laura tells it as a love story. The 1st wife gives it a supernatural vibe. The detective brings a he-done-it attitude. And the friends interject some madcap comedy. And Walter keeps it mysterious as a victim of interpretation."

WBEZ already said in its review of Dating Walter Dante that the play is "based on the Drew Peterson case," and it certainly seems like it, as Walter Dante has one drowned wife and one missing wife. Just like Drew Peterson! And Peterson's middle name is Walter. So there's that.

At any rate, we're in the process of negotiating with a theater critic so we can have a review of our own right here at the Shorewood Patch. So stay tuned.

I'd like to read a Patch critic's review of the play... it sounds like a doozy!

Drew seemed to view himself as a stand up comedian!
