So long, old friend.

Residents from all walks of life turned out to say goodbye to Artis Koehler during a reception Saturday at the Shorewood-Troy Library. Koehler is retiring after serving as a library trustee for 27 years.

She was presented a few parting gifts by community members and library officials. And she reminisced about her time serving as a library trustee.

Koehler said the first Shorewood library was in a store front. She recalled it had one round table, 6-8 chairs and that books were lined up on a single wall.
