Indy Man Threw Beer Can on Track During NASCAR Race: Cops
You can take the man out of Indiana ...
Jeremiah Schmittel, 30, of Whiting, Ind., was charged with reckless conduct in connection with the 3 p.m. incident at the Joliet racetrack.
Schmittel threw a can of Miller Lite on the track while the race was under a caution flag, police said.
Security guards caught Schmittel in the act of throwing the beer, police said. The guards then reportedly alerted the Joliet police, who took Schmittel into custody.
Schmittel was released on his own recognizance and presumably went back to Whiting.
Schmittel's alleged shenanigans were not the only matter police were called to Chicagoland Speedway to sort out Saturday.
