Louie's Decides on New Name

The former chophouse still plans to open later this fall, despite a minor setback.

After Louie's Chophouse closed last August, the owners asked Shorewood Patch readers to weigh in on a new name.

The name they were considering at the time, Coulda-Been's, got voted down in a Patch poll.

"The old Louie's Chophouse will now be called 'Crossroads Neighborhood Grill,'" said George Gelis, the restaurant's general manager.

The establishment will reopen as a sports bar and grill. He said it will have more emphasis on food, and less on it's bar trade.

"We are going to be more of a neighborhood grill than your traditional sports bar," he explained.

Gellis said they are still optimistic that they will open by about Thanksgiving. They are currently working with the architect and contractor after having a minor set back.

They planned to take down a wall, but discoverd brick and cinderblock behind the drywall. Gellis said they are making sure they have the correct plans before they go to the village for the proper permits.

Is this still valid? I heard it was going to be a country bar.
