Minooka Family Wins Lottery
The winning ticket was sold in neighboring Morris.
A Minooka man and his wife will be traveling to Chicago Wednesday morning to claim a Lottery prize of more than $11 million. Illinois Lottery officials are withholding the name of the winner until Wednesday, but said the Minooka man and his wife will be claiming the prize together.
The winning ticket was sold from the BP Fast N Fresh in Morris, 150 E. Commercial. The station is on the corner of Commercial and Route 47.
The couple have opted for a lump sum payment of the prize, Olamide Aruwajoye, Illinois Lottery Public Relations Specialist said. The prize totals $11.25 million before taxes.
The ticket was sold on Dec. 10 and the man came forward Monday morning.

WOW! Can't even imagine how happy they must be. So hard to not be jealous....I hope they are smart with their winnings. Life is too short. Merry Christmas to that family.

Great-it would be sweeter if Uncle Sam would keep his grubby mitts off of it

I would be more worried about those who use news reports like this to target houses to rob, than I would be about paying taxes on it.
It was just a few months ago a group of armed men broke into a house demanding the money from a lottery ticket. Even though the ticket turned out to be just a novelty ticket, their guns were real.

The first thing the winners probably did was to get a lawyer to handle the legal details of this, and what he would have told them right off the bat is "DONT TELL ANYONE, NOT EVEN YOUR FAMILY". Because they are all too aware of what usually happens when it gets out that someone has a large sum of money.

"An attempted murder and home invasion in the September 2009 robbery at a Rolling Meadows home. The victim said he had known one of the robbers for years"
This is why almost every news site will only report where the ticket was sold, not where the people who won actually live.
