Could be a closed adoption and/or in another state where they would not have heard the story. Or is he even adopted - did she pull a Casey Anthony that's why she was hiding? I truly hope he's okay and I hope she has a great excuse....what a horrible thing to put your family through.

She was arrestted for theft. She's a con artist. That's what she does. So now she will spend her holidays in jail where she belongs.

Sad but tragically common story. A legal adoption takes a minimum of 6 months in Illinois and involves many ntelligent, educated, caring people who've seen it all. During the process, problems would have been discovered. Services could have been offered or if the problems were not fixable, the kids could have been taken into the foster care system. None of these checks and balances happened. That indicates that whomever has these kids might not have legal custody. And if they do have lega standing, what's the problem with getting back to that judge and checking things out? The keepers of the kids would be smart to get a lawyer and get these babies to the proper authorities to begin the legal adoptive process. It is in place to protect the kids and their new families. These babies deserve a loving, forever family. This shows all of us that we need more 'sanctuaries' where babies can be left by desperate parents. No questions asked. The babies didn't ask for any of this and who knows who's doing what to them now. What a nightmare.

Like I said earlier when this story came out! 99.9% of missing persons turn up one way or the other. Prison for this idiot.

I worked with Linda and found her to be a wonderful intelligent woman. I don't know what has happened here, but I'm glad she's safe and hope the children are ok as well. Im a next door neighbor to Don, i dont know his personally, but i do know he has been feeling badly that us neighbors have been having to deal with detectives knocking on our doors and asking questions. That being said, I had concerns and now I am feeling a bit ashamed about those concerns. Im glad that this exonerates Don and clears his name and shows that he was in fact a victim of this theiving con artist. Speculating about what really happened does not protect our children who deserve the best we have to give. Until this, and sadly, many other cases that put babies at risk get 'solved', the safety of children is the responsibility of all of us. While parents are busy playing in the dirt, innocent kid are growing, learning while formulating their beliefs about a 'good' world or a 'bad' world. To take a child along duing 'adult times' is unthinkable. We all know people who have done this and who still do this. Say something! Offer to help! When kids are pre-language', confused or substance-affected parents think that the kids are too small to 'tell', but that's not true. It all goes 'in there'. Notice the age that the babies start to 'stay' somewhere else...when language really kicks in. I've heard young 'uns articulate what happened BEFORE they could speak. It comes out eventually, if that baby is not permanently damaged and doesn't learn to speak. Babies need the same beddie-bye to nap in every day, nuturing, comforting surroundings and family routines that support trust and cultivate positive growth. The first few years affect a child for his entire life. If anyone ever wants safe haven for youngsters, contact someone you trust, someone in authority who can help. A firefighter, nurse, teacher, doctor, minister or a good parent who would know how to help. Say something! Offer help! Every one of OUR precious babies deserves this. It's up to us.
