Saw It on eBay: Trib Photo of Rialto Sculptor at Work

The Chicago Tribune is selling some of its archive photos, including one of Eugene Romeo creating the Rialto Square Theatre's friezes.

You'll never know what will turn up on eBay these days. When you do a search for "Joliet," a myriad of different items pop up.

Today we're featuring a photograph from the Chicago Tribune archives of renowned sculptor Eugene Romeo at work on the friezes that adorn the Rialto Square Theatre. The 8-inch-by-10-inch photo shows the newspaper's original cropping marks and comes with a certificate of authenticity.

Unlike may things on the Web site, in which buyers compete in an auction to purchase the item, this photo will be sold to the first person willing to pay $14.99, plus $2.50 shipping. The sale ends on Dec. 27.)
