Shorewood Man in Court on Child Porn Charge
The Shorewood IT guy arrested in August for allegedly possessing child pornography appeared in federal court.
A Shorewood man jailed since August on child pornography charges appeared in federal court Thursday.
The hearing for Christopher Kice, 41, was brief, said U.S. Attorney's Office spokesman Randall Samborne.
Kice's next status hearing was set for March 19.
FBI agents and Shorewood police officers took Kice into custody at his Callaway Drive home after his employer, a Chicago-area law firm, tipped the feds to his possibly possessing of child pornography.
Kice worked in the firm's information technology department.
A forensic investigation of Kice's computer equipment turned up pornographic images of young girls, according to an affidavit penned by an FBI agent. Some of the photographs were taken in Kice's home, according to the affidavit, and show the girls being fondled by the hand of an off-camera adult.
Kice has been in custody at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Chicago since his arrest. He faces a possible 30 years in prison.

Joseph, I'm curious about something... Having followed your story about Christopher Kice since it broke, I noticed that in your other articles you report that the FBI had evidence that some of the pictures Kice possessed were taken in his own home and that the victim was a girl. In this article, you report that the pictures taken in Kice's home were of girls, as in plural. Are we to understand that there was more than one victim--two or more different girls--or that there were several pictures of the same girl? Or don't we know? Or was this a typo?
In any event, this type of crime is eating away at the fabric of our society, and I fear for all of our futures if we don't get a handle on this type of thing. Already, our children don't have the type of childhood that we enjoyed because we can't trust our own families and neighbors as we did in the past, and we can't let our children out to play for fear that they'll be molested or abducted. Thanks for the follow-up!

Hey, Joseph, any news about this story? All the news clips are from last year! Have they put this guy away, or what? Isn't anyone interested in seeing justice for Kice's child? It's disappointing that everyone had a lot of comment about this case when it first broke, and now nobody seems to care about it at all!

Hi Vincent, thanks for following the story. I've posted a few articles about it in 2012. Not much has happened -- Kice has had some brief court appearances. He remains in custody in the MCC. I'll stay on top of it and let you know what's going on.
