Here's what's been happening on the mean streets of Shorewood.

 

April 28

Seat belt stop

A Minooka man was arrested on a traffic charge after the police pulled him over in the 100 block of East Jefferson Street.

Corey Jones, 25, of 604 Chestnut Ridge was stopped by the Shorewood police about 10:30 p.m.

Jones was pulled over for failing to wear his seat belt, police said, and he got a ticket for that. He was also arrested on a charge of driving while license suspended.

Jones was released from custody after posting bond.

Another seat belt stop

A Plainfield teen was arrested after the police pulled her over for allegedly failing to wear her seat belt.

Valerie Wolfer, 19, of 1807 Harvest Lane was pulled over about 1 p.m. near the intersection of Route 59 and Route 52 in Shorewood.

Wolfer was charged with driving while license suspended and cited for allegedly failing to wear her seat belt, driving without insurance, and violation of zero tolerance underage drinking and driving laws.

Wolfer was released after posting bond.

April 27

Traffic trouble

A Plainfield woman was arrested on a traffic warrant after the police pulled her over near the intersection of Cottage Street and Oakwood Drive.

Katherine Dixon, 24, of 23909 Cahills Way was collared shortly after 7:30 p.m.

Dixon was taken into custody on a Will County warrant charging her with driving while license suspended.

Dixon was released after posting bond.
