All I want for Christmas is for Chuck Ingwersen to go away. This comic is in poor taste to all of the issues happening and to try and push a political point. This man should never be used on the Patch ever again.

@MikeK - Newspapers have been pushing political points since the beginning of newspapers. That's what they do (you've heard of editorial boards?). Doesn't mean you have to agree. There was a time in this country when people were endowed with the gift of critical thinking, to engage in discourse and make their own minds up on various issues, rather than blindly follow one side or the other. Two sides were able to come together and compromise on issues for the betterment of society and the good of all people, rather than those who line the coffers of their re-election funds. And in the meantime, our country is broke and children are dying. Yet, we should shoot the messenger?

Joel,
I believe in freedom of speech, religion, and press. What this man did is push his political point using dead children. DISGUSTING. Period.
If you want the prior three rights mentioned here, then accept the 2nd Amendment because that protects those directly. If people actually learned to how and why rights were put in the Constitution, then we would have less individuals crying to have them taken away.
Yes this was a horrible thing that happened but that same person could used a variety of anything (knives, car/truck, chemicals, ect) to cause this devastation. Who can predict the future to know when to stop bad individuals? No one, just people who keep an eye out, understanding we live in an evil world plotting all the time.
We can never understand the minds of the mentally insane and nor should we try to understand it. People who own weapons understand that a great responsibility comes with that right. I just wish others would recognize that responsibility when they go to the voting booth. So far, I have yet seen that responsibility shown while voting.

All I want is for all children to be raised in healthy households, preferably with two parents. I want all kids to have strong male role models; boys so they learn impulse control, and how to behave like REAL men, not predators, and girls so they learn how they SHOULD be treated by boys/men. I want all children to be taught morals and values, respect for others, and that violence for the sake of violence is wrong. I want all children to learn self-respect and humility. I want children to learn that they can't have everything they want just because they want it; that rewards and accomplishments must be earned. Our society is in bad shape, and fools look only at the guns.

Chuck Ingwerson is trying to demonstrate the supposed thoughts of a child. In reality, Chuck Ingwerson, and no one else is exploiting children to drive Chuck Ingwerson’s personal political agenda. Chuck Ingwerson has a right to Chuck’s opinion, but needless to say, Chuck Ingwerson’s sole cowardice to hide behind the cartoon of a child shows Chuck Ingwerson’s integrity, lack thereof.....the Patch would be wise to either hire someone less a coward to express political views or hire someone to offer an opposing position. The Patch may say the public in this forum is the op-ed....but, Chuck Ingwerson has a platform, the public may chime in but has no "Platform" to speak from. These forums get so out of control that the subject matter gets lost and it is a slugfest figuartively speaking.
Chuck but also profess, in his cartoon opinion, that he is an expert to the current problem. With Chucks "artistic" expression (ahem) Chuck Ingwerson attempts to portray himself, as having all the answers. He would like us to think his opinion is correct, and anyone who disagrees is wrong. But, I am of the opinion that opinions are like but wholes , we all have one. But at least 99% of the people have the courage to say what they mean and not hide be
hind their profession and a cartoon child.
Ask Mr. Soros for opposing opinion salary for a weekly post. Chuck, go back to Hallmark/Shoebox.....the second amendment still stands, whether Chuck Ingwerson's opinion thinks it should or not

Dear Santa only if people got this upset about several hundreds of thousands of babies killed every year by abortion. Please stop the violence of the aborted babies. . Abortions kill more children every year than gun violence.
