This would be typical Cutler. He's always cussing out his offense. Of course, with him being sacked so much in this last game, some of the cussing out was deserved.
It's going to be a LONG season for Da Bears. Maybe if Lovie got excited on the sidelines sometimes, some of it might rub off on the team.

The Chicago Bears are a mediocre football team with below average coaching. Clay Matthews is a better player today than Brian Urlacher was in his prime. As a Bears fan, this is not easy to say. Better to know now than waste a whole lot of Sundays. Maybe next year. Disgusted

Terry...I'd lve to ask Lovie why he didn't double-team Mathews. Since one guy on him obviously wasn't working, maybe two guy coverage might have.

The Bears coaches made no offensive adjustments against Green Bay. Lack of in-game adjustments has been an issue in the Lovie Smith era. Of course knowing coming into the game how the Packers attack defensively the approach should have been short quick passes. I would have had Brandon Marshall in the slot running slant routes all night. Short plays beat the pass rush and he can avoid the over the top double coverage by the safety. The middle of the field was exposed, but the Bears never went there.

As for Clay Matthews he and Urlacher are completely different style linebackers in two totally different defensive systems. Not even fair to compare them. Matthews is a blitzer in a 3-4 attaching scheme where as Urlacher is a coverage guy in a zone coverage scheme. Urlacher has never been asked to blitz, and does not have the advantage of coming off the edge.

I'll take your word for it, Jim. You obviously have a much better grasp of the game than I do. My interests mainly lay in racing.

Brian Urlacher has always been over hyped. He wouldn't be and better as an blitzing linebacker because 1. He can't shed a block. 2. He has no ability to read and react. 3. He's not good at coverage. He's a white guy who used to run fast enough to make up for those shortfalls.

So "white" guys don't have the ability to read and react and blitz?

Most linebackers can, Urlacher can't!
