Jury Verdict Back on Vaughn Case; Decision to Be Announced Shortly
After a month of testimony, a decision on whether Christopher Vaughn murdered his wife and children to free himself for a new life in Canada is to be announced in a few minutes.

UPDATE/4:20 p.m.: The jury is back with its verdict. Just waiting for the attorneys to return to the courthouse before the decision can be read aloud.
After more than six hours of closing arguments, a Will County jury has finally gone into deliberations in the Christopher Vaughn murder case.
The case is relatively black and white, with the jury having to determine whether they believe enough proof has been provided to convict the 37-year-old Oswego man of shooting his wife Kimberly and their three children, Abigayle, 12, Cassandra, 11, and Blake, 8.
Defense attorneys have presented the theory that Kimberly was in fact the murderer, shooting her husband and then killing their children before turning the gun on herself. Her provocation could have been a combination of medication that could have brought on suicidal tendencies, coupled with her unhappiness over a failing marriage in which her husband was unfaithful, the lawyers said.
