Your Library Loans Books and E-Books
Borrowing abilities in today's library include downloading books.
Yesterday we told you about the ability to download music from the library Web site for free. You can keep that music. The library also gives you the ability to download books, but those only stay on your e-reader for a specific period of time.
"You can choose one week or two weeks," Three Rivers Public Library District Assistant Director, Lauren M. Offerman said.
Don't have an e-reader of your own? Don't worry.
"Very soon, we're going to be purchasing some Nooks and Sony e-readers that patrons can check out," Offerman said.
E-books are not quite as user-friendly as the downloadable music and require software be downloaded. They can be used on Apple-based devices, but not on Kindles.
"The Kindle is not library friendly," she said.
