JTHS Foundation to Host Annual Trivia Fundraiser March 10

The Joliet Township High School Foundation will host its eighth annual Trivia Day at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 10 at the Local 176 IBEW Banquet Facilities, 1100 Northeast Frontage Road in Joliet. Teams of between six to 10 individuals may register for the 90-minute battle of wits.

This year’s theme “Slogans and Logos and Ads, Oh My!” will revolve around trivia relating to decades of television and print ads.  During the contest, teams work collaboratively to complete 10 rounds of 10 questions.

“To add to the fun, we encourage each team to decorate their table and to wear costumes that relate to the theme,” explained organizer and foundation board member, Don Barnes.  “ A $100 cash prize will be awarded to the table with the most creativity.”

Prizes also include $125 awarded to the team with the highest trivia score and $75 awarded to the team with the second highest score.  "But the main focus is to have fun while helping out our students,” said Barnes.  “One hundred percent of the funds raised at the event will be used to fund educational grants and scholarships."  There will also be a silent auction and raffle tickets available for purchase.

The cost for a table of 6 to 10 people is $120, which may be paid in advance or at the door.  Participants must register as a team, not as an individual.  Doors will open at 2 p.m., and the event will start at 3 p.m.

To pre-register your team for the contest, contact Don Barnes at (815) 254-4578 or e-mail debnrmb@aol.com. The JTHS Foundation is a licensed 501(3)c charity and has served the students of Joliet Township High School District for more than 25 years.
