JWHS Students Place First in SWSC Stock Market Game

Joliet West High School students Kameron Hargrove, Phillip McClellan and Lejon Wise placed first in the SWSC Stock Market Game.  The JWHS team competed among 1,500 teams to earn the first place title.

Students began the game with a virtual cash amount of $100,000. Each team attempted to create the best-performing portfolio by researching and evaluating the current stock market. Working together in teams, students were able to practice leadership, organization and cooperation as they competed among their classmates for the top spot. The team ended with $136,212 in about a 2 ½ month period of investing.

Joliet West High School teacher Kenneth Poort mentored Hargrove, McClellan and Wise.
