 y cookbook.&rdquo\; This American-Greek  housewife is celebrating this m
 omentous occasion with a book release and  signing party this Sunday\, A
 ug. 5 at 176 West Banquet Hall\, 1100 NE  Frontage Rd in Joliet from 2 p
 .m. to 7 p.m.\n&ldquo\;It feels like I am in a dream\, I can't wait to h
 ave people try  our family dishes\,&rdquo\; said Day. &ldquo\;Everyone a
 sks my mom and I for recipes  and now they will have a collection of the
 m.&rdquo\;\nAccording to Day\, she wanted a way to connect to her grandp
 arents who  passed away in 2006. She found her way through sharing Greek
  recipes  that were passed down and asking her mother questions about di
 fferent  recipes. She started to cook more of her family&rsquo\;s dishes
  and adding her  own charm to them.\n&rdquo\;My favorite part of the boo
 k was spending time with my mom and dad\,  and writing down the recipes\
 ,&rdquo\; said Day. &ldquo\;We would spend hours talking  about Yia Yia 
 and Papou and I just learned so much about them\, the Greek  food and cu
 lture and all of our family traditions.&rdquo\;\nDay is a self-proclaime
 d Greek &lsquo\;diva\,&rsquo\; which she says means being  yourself\, ca
 rrying yourself with confidence\, yet still remaining humble  and thankf
 ul.&nbsp\; She admits to being a girlie-girl\; loves glam\, pink\,  over
 -the-top d&eacute\;cor&rsquo\; and themes. Readers will find this weaved
  throughout  her cookbook.\nAs part of her inner &lsquo\;diva\,&rsquo\; 
 Day is family oriented in every way and  feels that people should try co
 oking more at home and eat as a family.\n&ldquo\;There are so many benef
 its to cooking from home\, from scratch\,&rdquo\; said  Day. &ldquo\;Lea
 rning new recipes doesn&rsquo\;t have to be challenging\, it can be  fun
 ! Your inner &lsquo\;diva&rsquo\; does come out!&rdquo\;&nbsp\;\nIn her 
 unique book of endless recipes\, you will find traditional  one-pot meal
 s\, appetizers\, fresh salads\, Greek pastries and a few  low-glycemic d
 essert recipes. Day even cooks for her two dogs and shares  some of thei
