Musical recital by Students from Brandolino's Encore School of Music at the Timbers

The public is invited to enjoy a performance by students from the Brandolino’s Encore School of Music at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at The Timbers of Shorewood, 1100 N. River Rd., Shorewood.

Students from the Brandolino Encore Music Center, ages 8 and up, have put together a recital using a combination of arts and music. Directed by Bobby Brandolino, the show will feature both individual performances and duets on a variety of instruments, such as the guitar, cello and woodwinds. Genres of music performances will include everything from jazz to pop songs and Disney tunes.

“Our recitals are a great way to give back,” said Brandolino. “The residents really enjoy it and the kids love showing off what they do and what they work hard for.”

Brandolino, along with wife Karole, owns and operates Brandolino’s Encore Music Center—a full service music center in Shorewood.

Though housed in Shorewood, the center attracts students from surrounding areas such Joliet, Plainfield, Morris and Channahon as well.

Private lessons are provided for voice lessons and all instruments from over 20 instructors. Brandolino himself plays a little bit of everything, though his true passion belongs to the drums and the piano.

Brandolino grew up surrounded by music. His mother is a Mastered Piano Performance educator. His grandparents, Sandro “Sandy” and Helen Brandolino, owned and operated the Brandolino West Side Music Center in Joliet for over 40 years. Sandy was a percussionist and Helen, an accomplished pianist, graduated from the first music major class at Joliet Junior College.

Brandolino ran the West Side center for its last 18 years. Since his grandparents sold the center five years ago, Bobby has been keeping their legacy alive with the start of his own music center—Brandolino’s Encore Music Center.

The Timbers of Shorewood is a rental retirement community which provides independent and assisted living apartments and a full schedule of activities and services. Furnished apartments are also available for a short-term stay - a weekend, a week, a month or longer.
