Household hazardous waste, electronics collection event to be held Saturday
PLAINFIELD -- The Will County Land Use Department’s Resource Recovery and Energy Division will hold a household hazardous waste and electronics collection event in Plainfield on Saturday, May 31.
The event will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at William B. Orenic School parking lot, 5820 W. Theodore St.
The event will give residents a chance to safely rid themselves of household chemicals, hazardous materials and liquids such as oil-based paints and stains, medications, paint thinner, solvents, used oil filters and fluorescent light bulbs.

Electronic items to be collected include televisions, computers, laptops, tablets and microwaves. At its most recent one-day collection, held in Mokena, nearly 24,000 pounds of electronics were collected.
