You're invited to the sweetest event in town!

Shorewood HUGS will host its 5th annual Hugs and Wishes Chocolate Ball on Saturday, Feb. 1, from 7 to 11 p.m., at the Joliet Holiday Inn on Larkin Ave.

This year’s event is themed “Phantom of the Opera” and is sponsored by Heartland Bank and Trust Company.

Enjoy entertainment, one free drink per person, cash bar, appetizers, raffles, silent auction, and taste some of the finest chocolate creations from the best chocolatiers in our area. This year’s chocolate sponsors are HeavenScent Cakery, Joliet Junior College Culinary Arts Program, The Department, Barolo, Bella Cucina, Aunt Nina’s Sweetsand Treats, Cutting Edge Catering, Fanny May, and Hollingworth Candies.

Celebrity Judges for the evening will be mayors from Joliet, Plainfield, Shorewood, Channahon and Minooka. They will select a “Best Chocolate Creation,” all in good fun!

A special Grand Prize Raffle, sponsored by John Wright from State Farm Insurance and David Nelson Exquisite Jewelry (featuring an overnight stay in Chicago, dinner for two, Broadway in Chicago Tickets, a cash prize and jewelry) will add excitement to an already fun filled evening.

Proceeds benefit our Hugs & Wishes Program; fulfilling wishes for those that are disabled, deserving or in need in our communities. To date, Shorewood HUGS has fulfilled close to 200 wishes and given back a total of over $100,000 in Shorewood, Joliet, and the surrounding communities.

Tickets are $50 per person and can be purchased at Heartland Bank in Shorewood or at www.shorewoodhugs.org.
