DuPage River Overflowing Banks in Shorewood

Melting snow, rain, high river water—it must be springtime in Shorewood.

Light rain and melting snow raised the level of many area rivers to at or near flood stages Monday.

In the Village of Shorewood, the DuPage River was spilling over its banks at the David A. Barry pedestrian bridge near the intersection of Bass Street and Illinois Route 59.

A flood warning remained in effect for the east branch of the DuPage River at Bolingbrook, affecting Will County, according to the National Weather Service.
