Local Artist Turns Ordinary into Extraordinary

Minooka High School grad and Elwood resident Nicole Roberson creates custom, hand-cut mosiacs out of recycled glass. Her paintings and bird houses are popular, too.

Minooka Community High School graduate and Elwood resident Nicole Roberson shows how she turned an ordinary vegetable gourd into a bird house in a Patch video.

Also, Roberson shares "before" and "after" photos of piece of furniture she brought back to life by using recycled glass to finish the top. Up-scaling the old and turning it new—that's what she does in her art studio, which is in the basement of her mother's home where she grew up.

You can find more of her works on esty.com or by visiting her Facebook page: Nicole Marie Artistry.
