Shorewood's Holy Family Hosts 3-on-3 Alumni Turkey Shoot

Teams represented alums from the classes: '97, '05, '07, '09, '10 and '11.

Holy Family Catholic School Alums avoided the mall on Friday, Nov. 23, by participating in Holy Family’s first annual 3-on-3 Alumni Turkey Shoot.

Old classmates formed 10 teams, and gathered to play basketball at their old stomping ground: the Holy Family gym. Home of the Eagles, the gym hosted these teams with original names like: Threemendous, Butterballs, TurDuckin, Lil Ballers, Moe’s Boys, Assassins, Weave to a Layup, Monstars, Craig’s team, and Three Little Indians.

The teams represented alums from the classes: ’97, ’05, ’07, ’09, ’10 and ‘11. Those in attendance were entertained by the teams’ enthusiasm, the nostalgia, and the announcing by the school’s former athletic director, Jim Maloney.

The Butterballs were awarded Sports Authority gift cards for the most original team name, while Team TurDucken (’97) won the award for being the most mature team to enter the competition.

The final gift cards were distributed to Craig's team for winning the championship game that they played against Threemendous. Mark your calendars for next year’s event. You won’t want to miss seeing the alums that aren’t too ‘turkey’ to come out and show their ‘stuff(ing)'!
