Shorewood's Annual Food Drive Collection Begins Tuesday

Last year nearly 1,000 items were collected, including a generous donation from the Dial Company.

In the Spirit of the holiday season, the village of Shorewood will be hosting the sixth annual Food Drive to benefit the Restoration Christian Church Food Pantry located on Channahon Street in Shorewood. The Food Drive will be open to the public starting with the Village Christmas Tree Lighting Tuesday, and ending Monday, Dec. 31.

All donations should be directed to the Community Development Department in Village Hall Suite 102 or the Police Department.

Village Hall staffers will be encouraged to participate in the Food Drive with "Dress Down" December. To "dress down" during work days in December, they will be bringing two non-perishable food or personal hygiene items for each day of "dress down" to the designated drop-off area in the Community Development Department. The Pantry directors have stated that this year they are in need personal hygiene items, paper goods such as toilet roll, paper towels, laundry products, etc., and canned vegetables.
