Founded in 2006 by the members of the Wheaton Park District Leisure Center, the Step ‘n Time Dancers put together shows that are full of energetic music, dancing and singing. The troupe varies in age from 57 to 92. Among all the members, they have 46 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

The performance will include a dance solo by Sue Scaccia, age 92.

The troupe has performed for many retirement communities, church groups, luncheons, and for various talent showcases in the surrounding areas. It was featured at the talent show recently held in Wheaton performing the opening and closing numbers for the show, dancing to “All that Jazz” and “42nd Street”.

“What holds true for all of us is our commitment to making an entertaining show,” said Debbie Sutton, one of the organizers of the troupe. “We do it for the love of dancing and performing. We rehearse weekly, and last year we did 26 shows.”

The dancers are Shirley Francis, Barb Lenski, Florence Leone, Nora Paul, Ron Schoeberlein, Debbie Sutton, Marcy Wampach, Sharon Wecker, Ken Kloss, Marilyn Krell, Sue Scaccia, Jeanie Nielo, Carol O’Connor, Marilee Sobiecki and Nancy Stevens.

“All of the performers love to entertain and delight in putting on a wonderful show for their audiences,” said Linda Dolan, manager of the Wheaton Leisure Center.

The Timbers of Shorewood is a rental retirement community which provides independent and assisted living apartments and a full schedule of activities and services. Furnished apartments are also available for a short-term stay - a weekend, a week, a month or longer.
