The Timbers Celebrates its 10th Anniversary!

The Timbers’ 10th anniversary celebration takes place from 5 - 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, at the Timbers of Shorewood retirement community, 1100 N. River Rd., Shorewood. The celebration is free and open the public.

Shorewood Mayor, Richard Chapman, will join the Timbers’ King and Queen in a special carriage procession to kick off the 10th Anniversary festivities. Popular accordion and keyboard player Eddie Korosa, Jr., and his polka band will perform on the outdoor patio and crooner Frank Rossi will be singing the classics.

Generated by the vision of two friends who wanted to create a community for active retirement living, the Timbers of Shorewood opened its doors in 2002. It has since become an affable home not only for seniors, but also the surrounding community. The endless variety of daily activities draws residents of all ages from Shorewood and neighboring towns like Plainfield, Minooka, Channahon and Joliet.

The Timbers of Shorewood is a rental retirement community which provides independent and assisted living apartments as well as a full schedule of activities and services. Furnished apartments are also available for a short-term stay - a weekend, a week, a month or longer.

The public is encouraged to join the fun on this special night as the Timbers of Shorewood celebrates 10 years of commitment to its residents and the community at large. For more information call Shelly Goggins at 815-609-0669.
