In the early 1980s, he formed The Cole Younger Band, taking the name of the legendary outlaw for the group. Along with other original music he's written over the years, Pollard has created several songs about the Younger and James Brothers' exploits in the old west.

He released a new CD, Nothing Personal, featuring 12 John Pollard originals. Another CD, well underway, will feature a large cast of musicians performing previously unrecorded Cole Younger Band music, including the crowd favorite "Should the Heavens Fall,” as well as re-makes of some of the CYB favorites.

Previously, Pollard released solo CD's titled, Winds of Time and My Bethany. These albums reflect his personal life experiences as well as his love of the beach. In September of 2006, John was invited to perform the title track on his second solo CD, My Bethany, for the dedication ceremony of the new Bethany Beach Bandstand.

The Timbers of Shorewood is a rental retirement community. It provides independent and assisted living apartments and a full schedule of activities and services. Furnished apartments are also available for a short-term stay — a weekend, a week, a month or longer.
