Grill Marx Gone For Good?

Local restaurant claims to be closing temporarily, but neighbors aren't so sure.

Grill Marx, 1150 W. Jefferson Street, closed suddenly earlier this month. This was shortly after the announcement was posted on its website inviting people to football parties starting Sept. 12.

"Due to unforseen circumstances Grill Marx is closed and will re-open soon," according to the sign on the door. "Sorry for the temporary inconvenience."

Joliet Lock and Alarm worked in the restaurant Thursday. Men with ladders claimed there was remodeling going on inside.

Neighbors said they believed the sign was a ruse. They don't expect the restaurant to open.

According to the Shorewood Chamber of Commerce website, the owners are Arin and Joe Ferris. They have not responded to email or returned calls. The restaurant phone number is not in service.
