UPDATE: Harley Unveiling Tonight

Riders won't have to go to Sturgis this year to have a twin-V blow out. Conrad's Harley Davidson is unveiling eight new bikes at Hollywood Casino Wednesday night.

The public is invited to start the party at Conrad's, 19356 Northeast Frontage Road, at 6 p.m. for a ride to the casino. The event starts at 7 p.m. and is free. The unveiling is 8 p.m. Guests may enjoy food and drinks at the casino at their own cost.

Freak from WXRQ will be the special guest. The band, North of Eight will perform.

The hot new model for 2012 is the Dyna Switchback. It converts from a touring bike to a bar hopper in seconds. The saddlebags and windscreen are easily removed. 

Patch got an advance look at the beauty at Conrad's in the Ember Red Sunglo color. That is one cherry ride! 

The Dyna Switchback starts at $15,999 for basic black manufacturer suggested retail. The Ember Red Sunglo starts at $16,384. Out the door at Conrad's, that bike is $18,718.83 including tax, title and license. 

Anyone who can't make it Wednesday can stop by the dealership Friday and Saturday for free demo rides. A motorcycle license is required. 

During the demo rides, guests will be invited for a new experience, called the Jump Start. This is a stationery Harley that allows the rider to experience what it means to shift through gears. The front tire is locked in to place, so no bike experience is necessary.

"There are a lt of women who are intimidated by getting on a bike so this gives them a chance to try it out," said Missy Morris, Conrad's event coordinator.
