Massage Envy Spa of Shorewood Nabs Ovation to Business Award

Massage Envy Spa of Shorewood was nominated for the Ovation to Business Award by Gary Thiakos, a client of the business since they first opened.

Rep. Tom Cross (R-Oswego) and his Ovation to Business Advisory Committee presented his monthly Ovation to Business award to the Massage Envy Spa of Shorewood Thursday for their commitment to community service through partnership with the American Arthritis Foundation and contributions to other local charitable and not-for-profit causes.

“Under the stewardship of Mike and Rose Clancy, the Massage Envy Spa of Shorewood has shown tremendous community involvement and demonstrated the impact a local small business can make in the lives of others, ” said Rep. Cross. “We are proud to present them with this award in recognition of their commitment to the community.”

Massage Envy Spa of Shorewood, located at 1033 Brook Forest Ave., currently employees 32 staff and has created nearly 50 jobs in total since opening in the spring of 2011. They are also strong supporters of Shorewood H.U.G.S., a not-for profit organization committed to fulfilling wishes of local needy individuals and families.

“It is an honor to accept this award,” said Rose Clancy, co-owner of Massage Envy Spa of Shorewood. “We see community service as a way to give back. We participate yearly in the “Healing Hands for Arthritis” event where $10.00 for every service is donated to the American Arthritis Foundation. During our recent member appreciation month, $785 was donated to Shorewood H.U.G.S. on behalf of our members. We will also be having a “Military Day” soon, where we will offer free massages to active military personnel. Finally, we donate facials and massages daily to local organizations for fundraising efforts.”

Massage Envy Spa of Shorewood was nominated for the Ovation to Business Award by Gary Thiakos, a client of the business since they first opened.

“I have seen their community involvement and have become very impressed with their willingness to meet the needs of their clients and others,” Thiakos said. “They are already adding value to the Village of Shorewood through their generosity to others.”

Rep. Cross is currently accepting nominations for future recipients of the Ovation to Business Award. You can find and submit the application form on Rep. Cross’ website, www.tomcross.com.
