Shorewood Mariano's Opens Tuesday

Location is 10th of 11 former Dominick's stores to reopen as Mariano's.

Parent company Roundy's Inc. on Monday issued a reminder that the Shorewood Mariano's location is set to open early Tuesday at 950 Brookforest.

The store, which opens its doors at 6 a.m., is the 10th of 11 former Dominick's locations acquired by Roundy's to reopen as Mariano's. 

According to the company, the Shorewood location will add 450 jobs to the community. Across its 26 Chicagoland locatoins, Mariano's has created 10,750 jobs over the last four years.

“Our Shorewood customers will find an enhanced selection of premium food selections and a wide variety of organic and natural offerings,” Bob Mariano, chairman and CEO of Roundy’s, said in a press release. “Shop well. Eat well. Live well. These three concepts are not just a mantra – they guide everything that we do to ensure the perfect customer experience.”

According to the company, among the Shorewood location's offerings:

  • Vero authentic Italian coffee and gelato shop features premium coffees fresh-roasted locally and homemade gelato
    Floral department showcasing over 30 varieties of cut flower bunches and unique, recipe-specific bouquets plus floral arrangements from in-house designers
  • International aisle highlighting global cuisine with tastes from 15 countries, as well as an expanded kosher food selection
  • A dietitian available for nutrition consultations, cooking demonstrations, education classes, and health screenings
  • Full-service pharmacy that features friendly and accessible pharmacists, immunization services, the Mariano’s Prescription Savings Club and the unique PharmaSmart Blood Pressure machine
During a Tuesday morning ribbon-cutting, the Roundy's Foundation will make donations to the Restoration Christian Church Food Pantry in Shorewood and the nearby Judson Church Soul Food Pantry.

The location is open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week. The pharmacy is open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
