Shorewood's Schuster Rock Star of Plumbing Industry

Forty-five year-old Michael Schuster started working in the family business many years ago. Today, he is inventing plumbing parts used by manufacturers and homeowners alike.

When Shorewood’s Michael Schuster went into the plumbing business, he thought he was following in the footsteps of his family -- not becoming a rock star in the industry.
Schuster was featured in a Shorewood-IL.Patch.com story last week about the opening of Danco Innovation Center at 501 Earl Road in Shorewood. Then, he was featured in an article in the Joliet Herald-News.
Schuster, 45, recounts his climb to fame in the Herald-News article. According to the report, he is a fourth-generation plumber who worked for 15 years with Schuster and Sons Plumbing, a company founded by his great-grandfather, before turning to the tech-side of the business.
Now, he is inventing the parts plumbers and homeowners use to repair and modernize toliets, according to the Herald-News report.
“Our slogan is, ‘You screw it down, and you can’t screw it up,” Schuster stated in the article.
