Administrator's Tweets to Students Enrage Minooka Parent

Parent Kelly Klepec wants behavior to stop—and action to be taken by school board.

At least one parent is outraged by the luke-warm response she’s received from  Minooka Community High School board members regarding an administrator under fire for tweeting back-and-forth with students, according to a Sun-Times News Group report.

Parent Kelly Klepec told the board that the administrator—who wasn’t named in the report—should have discontinued tweeting students after she first complained about the behavior in March.

“I asked that this be addressed, and I asked that it stop immediately,” Klepec stated in the Sun-Times News Group report. “However, it’s been brought to my attention that it has continued whether in private tweets or in public tweets.”

“There have been some concerns and we are trying to address them,” stated board member Chris Kobe in the report.

His response led to a more charged call for action from Kobe, according to the report.

“There’s two pages of how personnel should conduct themselves with social media,” she stated. “This administrator has broken six out of seven (guidelines/rules). So, if you have better things to do, I think you should find somebody who can do it (take action).”
