Car Crooks Careen Through Shorewood
More than a dozen cars were looted overnight Wednesday.
Thieves struck Shorewood hard on Wednesday night, stealing from at least 14 parked cars before daybreak.
The police learned of the mayhem Thursday morning and today alerted the village to the rash of vehicle break-ins. The police also and cautioned residents to start locking their automobiles when leaving them unattended.
The crooks committed their crimes on the streets of Edgebrook Drive, Shorewood Drive, Ca-Crest Drive, Crystal Drive, Heintz Drive and Mazalin Drive.

All the victimized vehicles were left unlocked, police said. The vehicular villains reportedly made off with cash, purses, compact discs, toys and anything else of value.
