Minooka District #111 Maintains 'AA' Rating

Superintendent James Colyott says district will continue to work hard to prevent economic and financial challenges from impacting student learning.

In a financial report card, Minooka Community High School District #111 continues to rate in the "AA" category.

Minooka officials learned the district maintained its "AA" rating from Fitch Ratings of New York and London recently, according to a post on the school's website. The rating demonstrates a high credit quality for long-term bonds and shows bond issuers that the risk of the district defaulting on bond repayment is low, according to the post.

"These economic times have been challenging for everyone, so to continue to receive such a favorable financial rating shines a positive light on our district's efforts," stated Minooka Community High School Superintendent James Colyott in the post.

"MCHS has worked diligently to place itself in a position to continue to provide a quality educational experience for all students while being good stewards of taxpayer dollars, no matter the status of the economy," stated Colyott. "Whether it was building financial reserves or enacting a two-year, $2 million expenditure reduction plan, our board, administration and staff have worked hard to prevent economic and financial challenges from impacting student learning and we will continue in that direction in the future."
