Troy Fall Sports Tryout Dates Announced
For Troy fifth-, sixth-, seventh- and eighth-graders, the first day of school is Aug. 21.
With the first day of a new school year looming right around the corner, Troy School District officials have announced tryout dates for fall sports at Troy Middle School and William B. Orenic Intermediate School.
A complete list of times and dates is listed on the district’s website. Following is a brief rundown:
- Baseball: Aug. 5-6 for all incoming sixth, seventh and eighth-grade boys at Phelps Field (behind Troy Middle School).
- Softball: July 29-30 for all incoming sixth, seventh and eighth grade girls at Eisenbrandt Field (behind W.B. Orenic Intermediate School).
- Cross country: Aug. 1 sign-up at Troy Middle School for all incoming fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth-gradersl. Tryouts are from Aug. 5-14 at Troy Crossroads School. (Maximum 120 runners).
- Boys volleyball: Aug. 22-23 for all incoming sixth, seventh and eighth-grade boys in the Troy Middle School gymnasium.
- Golf: Aug. 5-6 for all incoming seventh and eighth-graders at Inwood Golf Course. (Maximum 12 participants).
- 7-8 Grade Cheerleading: Aug. 26-27 for all incoming seventh and eighth-grade girls in the Troy Middle School cafeteria.
- 7-8 Grade Poms: Aug. 28-29 for all incoming seventh and eighth-grade girls in the Troy Middle School cafeteria.
