Troy Garage Sale Proceeds Will be Used to Build Dowse Outdoor Learning Center

Family, friends work to keep memory of former Troy Crossroads principal Sue Dowse alive.

To keep the memory Sue Dowse alive, her family and friends and all the folks in the Troy School District are working to build an outdoor learning center in her name at Troy Crossroads School.

Dowse, who died of cancer in April of 2011, served 30 years in the district and is remembered fondly work her work as principal at Troy Crossroads. To help raise funds to build the outdoor learning center, her friends are staging an indoor garage sale Thursday (July 25) at Troy Craughwell School, 3333 Black Road, Joliet, Ill.

The garage sale begins at 8 a.m.

Also, TCBY yogurt will be sold during the event with a portion of the proceeds going to the learning center.
