5th Annual STAR WARS DAY Downtown Joliet

5th Annual STAR WARS DAY Event - FREE DAY!


The Joliet Public Library and the Joliet Area Historical Museum host the 5th Annual Star Wars Day Event on Saturday, June 7th from 11:00 am until 4:00 pm.  The event starts with a parade that begins at the Museum and travels down Ottawa street to Clinton street where the Joliet American Legion Band will play Star Wars songs.  Clinton street will be closed off between Chicago and Ottawa streets, and this area will be host to many vendors, food booths, and the music stage.  Over 100 costumed Star Wars characters will be on hand for photo ops and more.  And it is FREE ADMISSION all day!

All children ages 2-14 will receive a Youth Pass and will earn Star Wars stickers for playing games at the Library and Museum and be eligible for Raffles throughout the day.  The Museum will be host to kid's games, costumed characters, Droid Builders, Light Saber Duels, and much more.  A partial schedule of events in the Museum''s Indoor Lower Level Caterpillar Auditorium includes;

    Noon - Star Wars Film Documentary "The Force Among Us"
    12:30 pm - Lightsaber Duel Demo
    1:00 pm - R2 Droid Builders Club Demo / Q&A
    1:30 pm - Star Wars Film Documentary "The Force Among Us"
    2:00pm - Lightsaber Duel Demo
    2:30 pm - R2 Droid Builders Club Demo / Q&A
    3:00 pm - Star Wars Film Documentary "The Force Among Us"
    3:30 pm - Lightsaber Duel Demo

So come on out and enjoy a fun and exciting day at the Joliet Public Library and the Joliet Area Historical Museum in downtown Joliet.
