Aid & Attendance with Robert Hart at the Timbers

Robert Hart of the American Association for Wartime Veterans (AAWV) will present a free informational seminar titled, “Aid and Attendance,” at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 27, at The Timbers of Shorewood, 1100 N. River Rd.

Hart will explain the benefits which are available to qualifying veterans, widowed spouses or disabled adult children. He will also explain eligibility and how to initiate a claim.

Once awarded Aid and Attendance or Housebound status, veterans may obtain as much as $1,732 a month, surviving spouses $1,113 a month, and existing couples $2,054 a month. Two veterans married to each other may obtain as much as $2,676 a month. In addition to income, veterans and their spouses may qualify for free medications, medical equipment, incontinence supplies, glasses and hearing aids.

The Timbers of Shorewood is a rental retirement community which provides independent and assisted living apartments and a full schedule of activities and services. Residents, whose needs may change, are able to stay in the same place and receive appropriate care.
