Concert in the Park: Banjo Buddies at the Timbers

The Banjo Buddies Dixieland Trio will perform for residents and the public at 6:30 p.m. – 9 p.m. Sunday, July 21, at The Timbers of Shorewood, 1100 N. River Rd., Shorewood.

Leader Ann Stewart is featured on jazz banjo and vocals, Tim Stewart on trombone, and Verne Rind on bass and vocals. They specialize in Dixieland jazz from the 1920s through the ‘40s. Their music is fun and lively and presented in an entertaining fashion with audience interaction.

The band has recorded eight albums, and the members were named Entertainers of the Year by the Illinois Festival Association. They have performed with the likes of Hank Williams Jr., Ann Murray, Buddy Rich, Al Hirt and The Ink Spots.

The Banjo Buddies perform more than 250 shows annually, spanning from local to international festivals, conventions, cruises, private engagements and everything in between.

The Timbers of Shorewood is a rental retirement community which provides independent and assisted living apartments and a full schedule of activities and services. Furnished apartments are also available for a short-term stay - a weekend, a week, a month or longer.

The event is open to the public and admission is free. For more information, call Shelly Goggins at 815-609-0669 or visit http://www.timbersofshorewood.com.
