Aurora Lamplighters Chorus performs at the Timbers

The public is invited to enjoy the Aurora Lamplighters, a men’s barbershop chorus, at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, at The Timbers of Shorewood retirement community, 1100 N. River Rd., Shorewood.

The Aurora Lamplighter Chorus was founded by Bill Henderson and chartered in 1946 as a chapter of the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barbershop Quartet Singing in America. Now in its 65th year, the chorus is a men’s a capella group singing four part harmony, barbershop style.

Nicole Chapen is the chorus director, and the group meets at 7:30 p.m. Thursdays at Neighborhood Church of the Brethren in Montgomery.

The Timbers of Shorewood is a rental retirement community which provides independent and assisted living apartments and a full schedule of activities and services. Furnished apartments are also available for a short-term stay - a weekend, a week, a month or longer.
