Italian Singer: Kym Frankovelgia at the Timbers

Italian singer Kym Frankovelgia will entertain her audience, performing standards, jazz, Broadway and comedy at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, at The Timbers of Shorewood, 1100 N. River Rd., Shorewood.

Frankovelgia attributes her varied musical style to her humble beginnings as a singer in night clubs and on cruise ships. She has performed with renowned entertainers like Maxene Andrews from the Andrews Sisters and Allison McKay. Also, she has shared the stage with renowned big band orchestras such as the Sammy Kaye Orchestra and the Glenn Miller Band.

Although at one point she lived in Hawaii, her love of seasons drew her back to Illinois. After success both on the road and in recording studios, she has now tailored her talent specifically for private parties, seniors, social clubs and organizations.

Frankovelgia has a deep passion and respect for the music of a bygone era. Her renditions offer a modern twist to the classics from the 1920s through the 60s.

“Born to entertain,” according to Mark Davis of the Chicago Tribune.

She performs hundreds of shows a year and recently released her latest album, “Bigger is Better.” Other albums include “The Secret of Christmas,” “One for the Road,” and the self-titled “Kym Frankovelgia.”
