Joliet's First Jersey Mike's Subs Opens Next Week

The store, located at 4706 Caton Farm Road, is holding a fundraiser for Joliet Fire Department Charities in its first week.

Joliet's first Jersey Mike's Subs store opens Oct. 30 at 4706 Caton Farm Road, and will be celebrating with a fundraiser to benefit Joliet Fire Department Charities.

Franchise owner Todd Shaw is passing out 10,000 coupons offering a free regular sub for a donation of $1 or more to the fire department's charity that can be used between Oct. 30 and Nov. 3.

The store will be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.

This is Shaw’s second Jersey Mike’s location; he opened a store in DeKalb earlier this month.

“Coming on board with Jersey Mike’s has been such a great experience and I’m really looking forward to opening day in Joliet, Shaw said in a news release on the opening.

Started at the Jersey Shore in 1956, Jersey Mike's started in 1956 on the Jersey Shore, and has been steadily moving into the Illinois market over the last couple of years. In 2012, it opened 92 new restaurants, including one on Weber Road in Romeoville.

Since 2010, locations throughout the country have raised almost $7 million for local charities and distributed more than 500,000 free sub sandwiches to help numerous causes, the news release said.
