Technically, tickets to the Nova Soul Quartet, who will be playing at the Joliet Area Historical Museum on Thursday, are sold out. But, if you are lucky, you can purchase one in-person the night of the concert.
"We hold about 20 tickets back," Mike Brick, Development Director at the Joliet Area Historical Museum said. "We always have walk-ups."
Brick warned those wanting to purchase walk-up tickets may not get in, but doors open at 6:45 p.m., so that is the best chance to purchase tickets.
This is the second concert this season that has sold out. Shindig, which played on Aug. 9, also sold out.
Nova Soul has a large local following as the band is comprised of local musicians from the south suburbs.
Nova Soul is the last of the season.
Brick described the style of Nova Soul as dance, funk and jazz. Nova Soul plays regularly in the area, having played aton Sept. 6.
The Rooftop Summer Music Series has been in existence for three years. The money raised in the series goes towards a variety of museum activities, including educational programs for field trips, music series, kids programming events and the annual downtown festival - KidzFest.
Tickets are $8 for museum members and students and $10 for non-members.
The event is casual dress. In case of inclement weather, the concert will be moved to the historical museum's auditorium.
