resident Meghan Moreno finished second in the General Motors Our Town, Our Heroes contest.
Moreno, the executive director of the Edward Hospital Foundation, was nominated by Naperville resident Chelle Arends. The two met soon after Arends' son, Coleson, was diagnosed with leukemia at age 3.
Coleson is now 7 and in remission, but during his long battle Arends and Moreno raised $30,000 for the Edward Hospital KidsCare Campaign.
As the runner-up, Moreno will get to drive a General Motors vehicle for a week. She has whatever prize she received to families with sick children at Edward Hospital.
Arends will also get a week in a General Motors vehicle for nominating the runner-up.
Moreno's second-place finish was fueled by more than 200 online votes.
